Mr. Rieger is a founding partner of PILOT Real Estate Group, having built and run the firm since inception in 2008. He is actively involved in all aspects of the firm.

Mr. Rieger has spent his whole career in real estate with activities ranging from Institutional debt and equity to “hands-on” distressed and opportunistic acquisitions, turn-around and value-add operations and the acquisition and management of operating businesses tangential to real estate including Coworking, RV Parks and Quick Service Restaurants, particularly Cinnabon. Prior to PILOT, Mr. Rieger was managing partner of Rieger Enterprises, a real estate development company targeting opportunistic investments in commercial real estate properties and real estate operating companies.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Rieger headed the Real Estate Equity Finance group at Chase Manhattan Bank, was a VP in the real estate group at Kidder Peabody, and an Account Manager in the real estate work out area of Citigroup.

Mr. Rieger graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and earned his MBA from New York University.

Mr. Schwartz is a founding partner of PILOT Real Estate Group, having built and run the firm since inception in 2008.

Mr. Schwartz has spent his entire career in the real estate development and construction business. He has developed numerous single family and multifamily projects, including both new construction and comprehensive repositioning of assets. Prior to founding PILOT, Mr. Schwartz was the managing partner of a second-generation family real estate development business that owned, operated, and developed some of the largest office and residential buildings in Greenwich, CT.

In addition to his role at PILOT, Mr. Schwartz manages his family’s investments and their many philanthropic initiatives. Mr. Schwartz graduated with a degree in architecture from Washington University.

Mr. Saper is a founding partner of PILOT Real Estate Group. Mr. Saper currently focuses his efforts on PILOT’s debt business and sourcing investment opportunities.

Mr. Saper has been in the real estate business for more than 40 years and has been active in acquisitions, workouts, and development. From 1989 to 2000, Mr. Saper served as president of The Clifford Companies, a boutique real estate advisory and workout firm with offices in New York City and Southern California. In this role, Mr. Saper executed a complex workout of a six million square foot NYC office portfolio saddled with excessive debt, ultimately taking control of and successfully operating several assets.

Prior to co-founding PILOT, Mr. Saper partnered with Mr. Schwartz in a company that developed luxury spec homes in Greenwich, CT. Mr. Saper began his career working for US Senator Robert Kasten (R-Wisc.) in his real estate syndication business.

Mr. Saper graduated with a B.A. from Brown University and completed graduate work at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. O’Leary is a partner at PILOT Real Estate Group and has been with PILOT since 2008 and its predecessor company since 2002.  Mr. O’Leary is responsible for the management of all PILOT’s investments, as well as leading the due diligence and underwriting efforts for all prospective debt and equity opportunities.

Since PILOT was founded in 2008, Mr. O’Leary has worked on a wide range of investments, with a particular focus on distressed and value-add opportunities for PILOT’s equity platform.  Additionally, Mr. O’Leary has expanded relationships and sourced opportunities in new markets, enabling PILOT to significantly expand its reach.

Prior to joining PILOT, Mr. O’Leary was a senior project manager for Backcountry Ventures, a leading developer of high-end single and multifamily developments in Greenwich, CT, where he was responsible for all development and construction activities for the company.  Prior to this, Mr. O’Leary was an environmental analyst for the Town of Greenwich focused on the regulation of real estate developments.

Mr. O’Leary holds a B.A. in Biochemistry from Skidmore College, and a Master’s in Real Estate Finance from New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate.

Ms. Lipman joined PILOT in 2016 and is responsible for the negotiation and execution of the firm’s investments, as well as assisting in the asset management of the firm’s various debt and equity positions.

Prior to joining PILOT, Ms. Lipman worked at HREV, a real estate investment platform based in NYC, where she was responsible for legal compliance and asset management of the fund’s equity and debt investments. Prior to HREV, Ms. Lipman was Assistant General Counsel at Pegasus Capital Advisors, a middle market private equity firm with more than $2 billion in assets under management.

Ms. Lipman began her career at Emmes Asset Management Group (now Vanbarton Group), a privately held real estate investment firm, where she was Associate General Counsel assisting on a wide range of legal matters related to the firm’s real estate investments.

Ms. Lipman graduated from Northwestern University and earned her Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School.

Mr. King began his real estate career in 2013 and joined PILOT in 2022. At PILOT, Mr. King is responsible for the asset management of PILOT’s debt and equity portfolio and assisting with the due diligence and underwriting for prospective deals.

Prior to joining PILOT, Mr. King worked as a commercial real estate broker at Cushman & Wakefield and Savills in New York City. During his career in brokerage, Mr. King advised landlords and a broad range of tenants with lease acquisitions and dispositions. He brings to PILOT an analytical thought process, strong negotiating skills, and experience managing transactions of varying scope and complexity.

A native of the United Kingdom, Mr. King received a B.A. in Business from Oxford Brookes University in the UK and a Master’s in Real Estate Finance from New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate.

Ms. Levine joined PILOT in 2017.  She is responsible for the accounting of PILOT’s equity and debt investments, cash management, and budgeting.  Additionally, Ms. Levine handles all the administrative functions for the firm. 

Ms. Levine began her career working with institutional traders of US Government Bonds at Dean Witter Reynolds.  She has held various positions at several other investment banks with roles ranging from preparing daily P&L for bond traders, to trading US Treasury Bills. 

Ms. Levine has a B.S. in Accounting from Binghamton University.
